When the experiment is running.: Set the experiment ID and choose a variant from the server. Add Google Analytics measurement code to variants. Create an experiment in Optimize. When using this method, you can create and run an A/B test or multivariate test MVT. To create an A/B test.: Open your Optimize account. Select a container. Click Create experience. Enter an experiment name. The URL field is ignored here. Enter a placeholder URL that doesn't' exist on your website. Select A/B test. Set experiment objectives. Use objectives to measure the results of your experiment. In your experiment page, click Add experiment objective under Measurement and objectives. Select a primary objective from the dropdown list. Set experiment targeting. Your server-side code handles experiment targeting, so Optimize doesn'tuse' the information you enter here. However, Optimize requires you to set a URL rule. To set experiment targeting.: In your experiment page, click Add variant under Targeting and variants. Enter a variant name e.g. Variant 1 and click Done. Click Add URL rule under Page targeting. Goede integratie met andere Google producten. Relatief eenvoudige integratie op de website. Eenvoudig te gebruiken visuele editor, maar ook de optie om code aan te passen. Nadelen Google Optimize. Maximaal vijf verschillende experimenten kunnen tegelijk uitgevoerd worden. Rapportage beperkt zich tot GA data, daar waar VWO bijvoorbeeld heatmaps en replays biedt. VWO is inmiddels al een keer genoemd, maar er zijn meer tools die gebruikt kunnen worden voor het uitvoeren van A/B tests. Een ander bekend alternatief is Optimizely. Bij Datarunsdeep uit Australiƫ hebben ze een mooie vergelijking gemaakt tussen Optimize, VWO en Optimizely. Zij concluderen dat het ideale pakket verschilt per doelgroep, maar dat uiteindelijk bij ieder pakket de gebruiker de grote winnaar is. Aangezien alle drie de programmas voldoende mogelijkheden bieden tot het opzetten van een goede AB test.

Google Optimize 360 is currently in beta but you can currently add your email to invite list. For smaller customers, or those with less complex needs, Optimizely still offers better value - but that might change if Google were to offer a limited version of Optimize at a lower price.
